RAWALPINDI: Light rain in and around different parts of the twin cities on Tuesday evening brought down the temperature and turned the weather pleasant.

The day started with hot weather, but clouds appeared in the afternoon. Light rain then occurred in different parts of the twin cities including Islamabad airport, Rawat, Media Town, Bahria Town and DHA. Murree also received rain.

According to the Met Office official, rain occurred in some places around Rawalpindi and Islamabad including Murree and Rawat, with more rain predicted in the next 24 hours.

He said due to this, temperature dropped from 39 degree Celsius to 36 degree Celsius in the twin cities.

“Weak moist currents are approaching southern parts of the country from the Arabian Sea. A high pressure is also present in the upper atmosphere and may persist for the next 24 hours. A westerly wave is likely to approach upper parts of the country on Wednesday and will likely persist till June 5.

He said partly cloudy weather accompanied with windstorm-rain/thunderstorm was expected in isolated places in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Kashmir, Gilgit-Baltistan, Islamabad and Punjab in the evening while heavy falls and hailstorm may also occur in a few places during the period.

“Hot and dry weather is expected in other parts of the country, while very hot weather is expected in Balochistan and Sindh,” he said.
