Grenade hurled at Wana police station

SOUTH WAZIRISTAN: Unidentified motorcyclists hurled a hand grenade at the city police station in Wana here Sunday night, police officials said.

They said that the attackers riding a motorcycle threw a hand grenade at the police station and sped away.

The grenade struck the boundary wall of the building and exploded outside the premises.

The explosion did not cause any casualties or damage to the police station.

Following the blast, police personnel collected evidence from the site.

District police’s special branch in-charge Zabih Wazir said that an investigation was launched into the attack.

He said that authorities were examining various aspects of the attack to determine the identity of the perpetrators.
