TEHERAN: Iran today [May 30] further emphasized its determination to nationalize the British controlled oil industry by announcing that [a] Government mission would leave for the rich Abadan refinery area next week to begin to execute Parliament’s order to take over oil holdings. The mission will be under the chairmanship of ... [the] Minister of Economy. Engineer Kazem Hassibi said the dispossessing would take the form of transferring of authority now held by the company to the Government Managing Board. He added that Iran would continue employing the British experts as long as there was lack of trained natives, but the British would be progressively replaced by Iranians.

The newspaper, “Keyhan”, says that there already is a flood of applications from foreign oil experts for jobs with the Iranian Government... .

The Iranian Government announced today that Premier Mohammad Mossadegh in his talk yesterday with US Ambassador Henry Grady pointed out that the British Government can negotiate with Iran only on the matter of Britain’s oil requirements and that Iran considers nationalization a closed issue. — News agencies
