Two ‘killers’ of circus guard held

BAHAWALPUR: Dhanote police in Lodhran district claimed on Monday to have arrested two alleged killers of a circus security guard.

According to Dhanote police SHO Sheikh Saleem, the nominated suspects – Dilshad and Sarfraz – were arrested on the complaint of the family of the murdered security guard, Ijaz.

He added that the suspects had also injured another man, Faheem.

The SHO said the suspects had attempted to enter the circus without tickets, and when security guard Ijaz stopped them, they allegedly stabbed him to death with a knife.

They had fled the scene after injuring Faheem, he added.

DEATH SENTENCE: Vehari Additional Sessions Judge Syed Muhammad Umar handed down death sentence to a murderer, along with a fine.

According to the prosecution, the convict, Afzal, had shot one Ahmed dead for getting a case registered against him in 2023.

Mitroo police, after registration of a murder FIR No 404/23, arrested Afzal and submitted the case challan in the court.

The court awarded him death sentence, along with Rs500,000 fine.

BIKER DIES: A motorcyclists died after being hit by a speeding car near Uch Sharif, about 70kms from here.

According to Rescue 1122 officials, Mustafa (29) was on a motorcycle when it was hit by speeding car at Sultan Wah near Uch Sharif.

The rescuers, called to the scene by locals, shifted the body to the victim’s house, while Uch Sharif police were called in for the completion of legal proceedings against the car driver.
