QUETTA: Balochistan Chief Minister Sarfaraz Bugti visited police Hawaldar Habib Ur Rehman at Trauma Centre Quetta on Monday. He was seriously injured in firing by gunmen while guarding a polio team in Chaman.

Despite persistent threats targeting health workers and security personnel, Hawaldar Rehman continued serving on the frontline to help ensure children are protected from polio.

During the visit, the chief minister inquired after the condition of the injured police officer and directed doctors to provide him with the best possible medical treatment.

Praising his courage and dedication, Mr Bugti said those protecting innocent children and supporting the fight against polio are the true heroes of the nation.

“The enemies of peace and humanity cannot weaken our resolve through such cowardly attacks,” the chief minister said, adding that the sacrifices of police personnel and health workers would always be remembered with respect and pride.

He said the courage shown by Hawaldar Rehman sends a strong message that the fight against polio and terrorism will continue despite all threats.
