Dawn staffer’s mother passes away

ISLAMABAD: The mother of Rashid Khattak, Senior Sub-Editor at Islamabad office of Daily Dawn, passed away after protracted illness on Monday.

She was the widow of Mohammad Sher Khan. She was also the mother of Brig Dr Shahid Farooq, Prof Hussain Farooq and Brig Hassan Farooq.

Her funeral prayer was offered at H-11 graveyard in Islamabad and burial was also made there.

The employees of Dawn have expressed grief and sorrow over the demise of Rashid Khattak’s mother. In their condolence messages, they prayed to Allah Almighty to rest the departed soul in eternal peace and give courage to the bereaved family to bear the loss with fortitude.

Meanwhile, Senate Chairman Syed Yousaf Raza Gilani has expressed deep sorrow and grief over the demise of the mother of senior journalist Rashid Khattak.

He prayed to Almighty Allah to rest the departed soul in eternal peace and bestow patience, courage, and fortitude upon the bereaved family to bear this immense loss.
