ISLAMABAD, July 5: Pakistan and Oman football teams will play Asia Cup 2007 qualifying match at Jinnah Stadium, Pakistan Sports Complex, on Aug 16.

After playing Oman, the national football team will leave the very next day (Aug 17) for Colombo (Sri Lanka) to take part in the 10th South Asian Games in which football will be one of the 20 disciplines.

This was stated by newly-appointed Pakistan football manager Mohammad Irfan Khan Niazi who said that national football camp currently in progress at Jinnah Stadium includes 36 probables who will be trimmed down to 20 for the South Asian Games.

“National coach Salman Sherida is keeping a close eye on the performance of the players and will finalise the 20 in due course of time,” Niazi said.

Niazi said national football league was scheduled to commence across the country on July 10.—APP
