SHEIKHUPURA, July 5: Five labourers died and six others injured when a trailer fell into Nullah Dek on Lahore road in the wee hours on Wednesday.
Reports said about a dozen labourers riding a trailer loaded with iron bars were on their way to Gujranwala from Lahore. The driver lost control over the vehicle, which skidded off the road and fell into Nallah Dek.
The labourers, Muhammad Asif, Naeem, Saleem, Iqbal and driver Abbas died on the spot, while Ghulam Qadir, Mubarak, Abdul Rasheed, Khadim, Ghaffar and Shahid were admitted to the DHQ hospital with serious injuries.
Factory area police are investigating.
