ISLAMABAD: Pakistan’s young squash stars began the 33rd Asian Junior Individual Squash Championships in China with a spectacular start as all players secured wins on the first day of the event on Wednesday, according to results shared by the Pakistan Squash Federation.

A commanding performance came from Abdullah Nawaz in the boys’ Under-19 category, who beat Indonesia’s Mohammad Razka Idhmi Sulaeman 11-1, 11-3, 11-5 in 27 minutes.

The U-17 category saw Mohammad Umair Arif defeat Thailand’s Peemawat Poonsiripuk 11-2, 11-4, 11-2 in 20 minutes, while Nauman Khan outclassed China’s Liao Zhongyu 11-3, 11-3, 11-4 in 18 minutes.

Over in U-15, Sohail Adnan overcame Alexander Muratidis 11-2, 11-1, 11-2 in just 11 minutes.

Mustafa Khan delivered in the U-13 bracket, beating Joseph Alexander Chang 11-3, 11-4, 11-2 in 23 minutes.

In the women’s category, Mahnoor Ali tamed Anna Ugay 11-2, 11-1, 11-0 in 10 minutes. Meanwhile, Sehrish Ali overcame Zhu Chenxuan 11-6, 11-1, 9-11, 11-2 in 36 minutes.
