KARACHI: A young man was shot dead by armed robbers in Shah Latif Town on Wednesday, police and rescue services officials said.

They added that Shahzaib Ali, 35, was shot and killed during a robbery in Sector-A-17.

Area SHO Mumtaz Marwat said the victim was sitting outside his home near Minhajul Quran Masjid when armed pillion riders arrived there and demanded cash and other valuables. They opened fire on him when he put up resistance and rode away.

He sustained critical bullet wounds to his chest and was taken to the Jinnah Postgraduate Medical Centre where doctors pronounced him dead.
