18 militants killed in Kurram clash

KURRAM: Eighteen militants were killed in a clash between two rival groups in Manato Kamran Kallay area of central Kurram, according to police sources.

They said that the fighting broke out between the groups of commanders Kazim and Mumtaz Imti.

They said Commander Mumtaz Imti was also killed in the clash.

The bodies of the killed militants were found the site of clash.

Local tribes have started the process of collecting and burying the bodies.

Officials said that several militant groups were active in central Kurram.

Security forces have carried out multiple operations in the area in the past, during which hundreds of militants were reportedly killed and dozens of their hideouts and training centres were destroyed.
