LARKANA, July 4: Two nazmis of the Khushhal Pakistan Panel on Tuesday moved a no-confidence motion against District Naib Nazim Munwar Ali Abro. In the absence of the district naib nazim, who is also the convener of the council, Badar Abbasi, the senior most member of the panel of presiding officers, received the application.

Mr Abbasi told Dawn that the motion had been moved by Bashir Shaikh and Hassan Kalhoro of union councils Pathan and Yaro Lakhir under the Sindh Local Government Ordinance.

The movers alleged that the convener had presided over sessions of May 23 and 24 in violation of the SLGO.

Acting under section 24’s sub-section 5 of the SLGO, Mr Abbasi summoned the session on July 8 to place the no-confidence motion before the council for voting.

STRIKE CALL: The Jeay Sindh Qaumi Mahaz (JSQM) has given a wheel-jam strike call in the Qambar-Shahdadkot District for July 5 against the water shortage.
