PCB hires more coaches

LAHORE, July 3: The PCB has made more appointments for the National Cricket Academy besides appointing head coaches at all the 11 regional academies. Ali Zia has been named as NCA Assistant Director.

Mohtasham Rashid and Mansoor Rana were appointed as bowling and batting coaches.

Mohsin Sheikh, a Pakistani settled in Australia, has been appointed as Coach Youth Programme.

Haroon Rashid has been appointed as head coach of Karachi Region Academy while former Test opener Sadiq Muhammad will head the Hyderabad Region.

Mohsin Kamal, a former Test bowler, who had been the coaching at the NCA last year, now will be the head of the Lahore Region.

Among others are: Azam Khan (Multan Region), Wasim Haider (Faisalabad), Azmat Rana (Sialkot), Sabih Azhar (Rawalpindi), Taimur Azam (Islamabad), Raj Hans (Quetta ), Farrukh Zaman (Peshawar) and Nadeem Abbasi (Abbotabad).

Meanwhile the national junior selection committee selected 24 players to hone the skill in five-week training programme which, will continue till mid August.

Players: Riaz Kail (Peshawar), Ramiz Raja, Khurram Manzoor, Ali Asad, Mohammad Faheem Sarfraz Ahmed Anwar Ali, Faraz Ahmad Khan (Karachi); Nasir Jamshed , Adnan Raza Usman Malik Jamshed Ahmed (Lahore), Shoaib Khan (Quetta), Usman Saeed Sohail Tanveer Rizwan Akbar (Rawalpindi), Fayyazul Hassan (Multan), Mirza Wasim Abbas Zohaib Ahmed (Islamabad), Imran Khaliq Asad Ali(Faisalabad), Nauman Ali (Hyderabad), Yasin Murtaza, Ali Khan (Sialkot).
