Police intensify search operations, over 750 persons checked in Islamabad

ISLAMABAD: More than 750 individuals were checked during citywide search operations conducted in the capital by the Islamabad police.

According to a statement, the search and combing operations were conducted under the supervision of SSP Operations Islamabad Qazi Ali Raza and monitored by the respective zonal SPs.

“During these search operations, a total of 755 individuals, 190 households, 11 hotels, 27 shops, 276 motorcycles and 116 vehicles were thoroughly checked. Additionally, 35 suspicious individuals and 25 motorcycles were shifted to the police station for further verification,” the statement said.

Moreover, suspects involved in possessing illegal weapons were also arrested and two rifles along with ammunition were recovered from their possession.

SSP Operations Islamabad said the objective of these search operations was to tighten the noose around criminal elements and further enhance security across the city.

“Such operations are being conducted in different areas throughout the district. Islamabad Police continues indiscriminate action against criminal elements, land grabbers and drug dealers,” he added.
