Five killed as van plunges into Swat ravine

SWAT: Five people were killed and 10 others injured on Sunday when a passenger van plunged into a ravine in the Ado area of Charbagh tehsil here.

According to Rescue 1122 officials, the van was carrying a wedding party. Medical teams rushed to the scene with ambulances immediately after receiving information about the incident.

“A total of 15 people, including women and children, were affected in the accident.

Five passengers died on the spot, while 10 others sustained injuries,” said Rescue 1122 officials, adding that the rescue medical teams provided first aid to the injured at the scene before shifting them to Mingora Hospital for treatment.

Officials said that the critically injured passengers were later referred to Central Hospital Saidu Sharif.
