TOBA TEK SINGH: Four suspects have been arrested after getting injured in encounters with the police in various parts of the province.

In one incident, police claimed that Tandlianwala City Police SHO Qaiser Mukhtar was present on the Dijkot Road along with a team when four suspects riding on motorcycles were signalled to stop. However, police claimed that they opened fire on the police party and fled towards a brick kiln.

The police party called for backup and continued to pursue the suspects who hid in nearby bushes while firing on the police party, which was returned in self defense.

Police claimed that when the firing stopped after some time, two suspects were found injured by the firing of their own accomplices, while their two accomplices had managed to escape.

Police said the injured suspects were identified as Usman and Naalain and they were wanted in several robberies.

SARGODHA: In an encounter in Sargodha, police claimed that three people riding two motorcycles escaped from the police checkpoint on the Saddar Nabi Shah Road in Bhalwal town of Sargodha.

Police claimed the suspect entered a nearby garden and was arrested in an injured condition, while two of his accomplices escaped by dodging the police.

Police identified the injured suspect as Shehryar alias Sheri, who was found involved in 46 cases of attempted murder, robbery, theft and burglary.

The Saddar Police also claimed to have recovered a 30-bore pistol and a stolen motorcycle from his possession. Investigations were underway to find the accused’s absconding accomplices, police added.

MIANWALI: The police claimed that Bangi Khel Police SHO SI Farhan Khan got a tip-off about the presence of notorious absconder Adnan Shah in the mountains along with his accomplices. On this, a police party raided the area and the suspects started firing on the team and the police retaliated.

Police claimed that after ten minutes the guns of the suspects went silent and the police team conducted a search of the area. Police claimed to have found suspect Adnan Shah in injured condition along with a 30-bore pistol, while his accomplices managed to escape in the mountains.

Police said the injured suspect was rushed to the Kalabagh THQ Hospital for treatment while the police were searching for his accomplices.

Mianwali DPO Waqar Azeem Kharal appreciated the efforts of the Bangi Khel police team.
