KARACHI: Enrolment declines

KARACHI, July 3: Enrolment has declined in government schools in the Malir Town, owing to the pathetic condition of schools.Government Boys Secondary School No 5 (Godown Shed) has 12 rooms and there are a total of 44 children. While there are no students in class IX and X, there are 18 in Class VI, 16 in Class VII and 10 in Class VIII.

Similarly, the Government Boys School No 2 Saudabad A-Area, Malir has a total of 76 students. There are seven students each in Class VI and VII, three in class VIII and 36 and 23 in Classes IX and X respectively.

Faryal Model Academy in Model Colony which is working in a dilapidated building and has only 87 students enrolled who have been shifted to another building. The Faryal school has 13 rooms has 76 students and there are three students in Class VIII.

Similarly, Ishatul Quran GBSB Malir Colony and GBSS Jinnah Square Malir Extension have 101 and 109 students respectively.

On the other hand, Govt Boys Secondary School No 1, Saudabad near Liaquat Market, has 960 students who are accommodated in 18 rooms and Akhtar Govt Boys Secondary School Malir Extension has 750 students who are accommodated in 12 rooms.
