KARACHI, July 3: Eight vessels carrying coal, containers and to load molasses are expected to arrive at the outer anchorage on Tuesday, according to KPT sources. Berthing activity at the wharves was maintained on the higher side where 10 ships were berthed to unload imported sugar and cement along with other commodities.
The ships which were berthed included Diamond Progress to unload cement, Bolan to offload sugar, Sutra Tiga, Shalamar, to offload oil, Maersk Alabama, Wan Hai-303, Yang Jiang He, Ilse Wulff, with containers, Xiang Rui Men and Alycia, with general cargo.
Sailing was also brisk as 10 ships, Thor Captain, Kota Tabah, Oel Patriot, Global Progress, Maersk Alabama, Lalazar, Opal, Uthai Navee, Jo Birk and Sutra Tiga departed, while Ilse Wulff, Wan Hai-303, Xiang Rui Men and Shalamar are due to sail out on Tuesday.
Cargo handling activity at the wharves was active where a total tonnage of 0.120m tons comprising 47,290 tons of export cargo including 2,507 tons of imported cement and 72,482 tons of import tonnage was handled.
The following ships are due on Tuesday: Valdimir Kokkinaki, to load 27,500 tons of molasses, APL Jeddah, Kota Mesra, Iran Sattari, Sinar Bontang, with containers, NIL, with coal and Ashraf Bay, with project cargo.
