ISLAMABAD: The situation that has developed on the West Bank of Jordan as a result of Israeli excesses is almost certain to be discussed at considerable length at the Islamic Foreign Ministers’ Conference, beginning on May 12 at Istanbul, and, according to informed sources here, Pakistan will support any action that may be suggested in the multilateral forum to give sustenance to the Palestinians’ struggle. — Islamabad Bureau

[Meanwhile, as reported by news agencies from the UN,] the Palestine Liberation Organisation told the Security Council yesterday [May 5] the people of Israeli-occupied Arab territories would resist genocide “like the heroes of the Warsaw ghetto uprising.”

Mr Zehdi Terzi, the PLO U.N. observer, said “we shall not permit the Zionists to capitalise on the Nazi mass murders of the Jews to perpetuate the genocide of Palestinians”. Mr Terzi was the opening speaker on the second day of a debate called by Egypt on the present wave of unrest in the Israeli-occupied territories. The PLO representative said there had been consolidation of the “Pretoria-Tel Aviv axis”. …[He] said: “Relations between the racist regime of South Africa and the Zionist movement are nothing new.”
