TOBA TEK SINGH:A joint team of Faisalabad’s Factory Area Police and Sahianwala Police in Chak Jhumra has solved the mystery of a headless body, arresting a man and his son for the killing.

Police said on April 10, a headless body of an unidentified person was recovered from Chak 127 JB, within the limits of Sahianwala Police Station, triggering panic in the area.

Meanwhile, a kidnapping case under Section 365 of the Pakistan Penal Code had been registered by Factory Area Police regarding the disappearance of a man, Javed Iqbal. During the investigation, police traced two suspects using CCTV footage, geofencing, and human intelligence. Upon arrest and interrogation, the suspects confessed to the murder of Javed Iqbal.

The suspects, identified as Muhammad Irshad and his son Muhammad Arsalan, disclosed that they had buried the victim’s head in nearby bushes in Sahianwala. The police later recovered the remains on their identification.

Speaking to the media on Wednesday, DSP Rana Nadeem Iqbal said during interrogation, the father and son revealed that the victim had developed a relationship with a girl of the family. He was pressurising the family for marriage and had threatened to make some pictures public.

On April 4, after receiving the alleged threats, the suspects lured Javed Iqbal to the Bahlolpur area of Sahianwala under the pretext of a fishing trip. There, they killed him, dumped the body, and buried the head separately to conceal the crime.

DROWNS: A young man drowned in Jhang branch canal near Dhamma canal rest house on Jhang road on Wednesday at Gojra. Rescue 1122 officials said Abu Bakr (20) of Chak 372 JB Bujjianwali was bathing in the canal along with his friends when he was trapped in deep water area and drowned. After hectic efforts, rescuers fished out his body five km away from the drowning place.

BODY: Two unidentified motorcyclists fled after dumping the body of a man in the Baraghar police area of Nankana Sahib on Wednesday.

Police said the deceased was identified as Adnan Ahmed, a resident of Jalal Nao Mor Khanda. According to an FIR lodged by his brother, Suleman, Adnan received a phone call on Tuesday night and left home but did not return.

The complainant alleged that suspects Shoban, Farid and Nasim, along with four unidentified accomplices, killed Adnan for unknown reasons. He further claimed that Shoban and Farid later dumped the body near Ghulam Nabi Park before fleeing.

Police have launched raids to arrest the nominated and unidentified suspects.

In a separate incident, an elderly unmarried woman was murdered in Chak 135 JB in Chak Jhumra tehsil of Faisalabad on Tuesday night.

Police said the victim, Azra Bibi (65), lived alone. An unidentified assailant reportedly entered her house and struck her on the head with a hard object, killing her on the spot.

The body was shifted to the Tehsil Headquarters (THQ) Hospital in Chak Jhumra for post-mortem examination. Police said investigations into the incident are underway.
