PESHAWAR: The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Bar Council on Tuesday announced a province-wide strike on Wednesday (today) to mourn the killing of Maulana Mohammad Idrees, a Jamiat Ulema-i-Islam-Fazl leader, in Charsadda district earlier in the day.

The council’s executive committee chairman, Malik Imad Azam, strongly condemned the murder of the religious scholar and demanded that the perpetrators involved in this incident be arrested immediately and handed exemplary punishments in accordance with the law, according to a statement issued here.

He said that the KP Bar Council took the decision on the request of the Peshawar High Court Bar Association.
