SAHIWAL: Thirteen development schemes worth Rs1.31 billion have been proposed to the Board of Revenue under the Annual Development Programme (ADP) 2026-27 for the Sahiwal Division, Dawn has learnt.

Finance and Development Director Shafiq Dogar told Dawn that the proposed schemes had been cleared by the Divisional Development Committee and forwarded by the commissioner for inclusion in the upcoming ADP. “The purpose is to upgrade existing revenue infrastructure for both citizens and revenue department officials and employees,” he said.

Sources revealed that Rs33.1 million, Rs26.7 million, and Rs71.8 million would be allocated for revenue development schemes located in Sahiwal, Okara, and Pakpattan districts respectively.

The proposed projects include construction of a litigant facilitation center at the Sahiwal DC office, a multistorey staff quarters for government employees (grade 1–15), and a caretaker’s quarter at the Sahiwal civil rest house.

Other projects include a litigant facilitation center at Chichawatni, renovation and improvement of AC houses in Okara, Renala Khurd, and Depalpur, extension and revamping of the Okara civil officers’ mess, extension and improvement of residences in the Renala Khurd Revenue Colony, construction of the Arifwala AC office, a tehsil office in Pakpattan, residences for AC office staff in Pakpattan, a shed at the Pakpattan DC office, rehabilitation and renovation of ADC (R), AC Office and Committee Room at the Pakpattan District Complex, and reconstruction of the Director Development and Finance Office Block at the Sahiwal Commissioner’s office.

PHONE RECOVERED: The district police claimed to have returned around 250 mobile phones, having a market value of approximately Rs9 million, to their rightful owners on Sunday.

Police claimed the phones had been either stolen or were lost and reported to the police during the months of March and April 2026. A ceremony to handover the recovered phones to rightful owners was held at the complaint room of the DPO office.

Talking to Dawn, Sahiwal DPO Usman Tipu said the police had been tracing lost and stolen phones using state-of-the-art technology installed at the DPO office.

He added that such recoveries strengthened public confidence in police and encouraged officers by reaffirming their service to citizens.

The ceremony was attended by traders, journalists, and businessmen associated with the Sahiwal Chamber of Commerce.
