TAXILA: A seminary teacher has been arrested for raping a 14-year-old student within the jurisdiction of Taxila Police Station on Wednesday, police officials said.

The victim’s father, a native of Charsadda currently living on HMC Road, has reported to police that his 14-year-old son is a student of the local seminary located at Godo Mor, where the seminary teacher forcibly took him to a washroom, where he molested him.

The matter came to light after the student informed family members, who then approached the police.

Police, after medical examination of the victim, which confirmed the sexual assault, registered a case against the accused under section 376-III of the Pakistan Penal Code (PPC) and sent him behind bars.

According to the police, necessary legal procedures have been initiated, and evidence is being collected as part of the inquiry. Authorities have assured that appropriate action will be taken in accordance with the law.

Meanwhile, a man allegedly axed his father to death over a land dispute in Kahdowal village in the Fatehjang town of Attock.

Police, while quoting the family of the deceased, said Sikandar allegedy axed his father, Umer Hayat, over a land dispute and fled.

Police, through human and digital intelligence, traced the suspect and sent him behind bars.

Separately, a man was gunned down over an old enmity in Mohalla Ghousia in the limits of Jand Police Station.

Police sources said that Munawar Khan was returning home when two masked men intercepted him and shot at him, killing him on the spot.

Police, while quoting the family of the deceased, have said that there is an old enmity of Mr Khan in his native town, Kohat and he shifted to the town to avert revenge, but his rivals traced him and gunned him down.
