KARACHI: The bullet-riddled body of a woman was found in North Nazimabad on Monday, police said.

Officials claimed that the deceased, Hina Awais, 21, died by suicide inside her home in Nusrat Bhutto Colony.

Central SSP Dr Mohammed Imran Khan said that initial circumstances suggested that it was a suicide case.

He said the deceased was stated to be upset over some domestic issues. However, the police are further investigating the case, he added.

The body was shifted to the Abbasi Shaheed Hospital for medico-legal proceedings.

Man shot dead in Gulistan-i-Jauhar

A 40-year-old man was shot dead near Jauhar Complex on University Road on Monday evening, police said.

The Sachal police said that Rashid Bashir was shot and killed at Billy’s Homes.

A police officer said the murder appeared to be an outcome of a personal dispute; however, he did not elaborate on its exact nature.

He said the heirs have given the names of two possible suspects but the police are waiting for them to formally lodge an FIR to initiate legal proceedings.

The body was shifted to the Abbasi Shaheed Hospital for medico-legal formalities.
