GUJRAT: At least four people, including three women, were killed and two women injured in separate incidents in Gujranwala on Monday.

The deceased include a woman and her three-year-old daughter who were found brutally slaughtered in the room of their house.

Reports said in Rehmatpura locality in Garjakh police precincts, a woman namely Nida and her daughter Dur-i-Adan (3) were killed with a knife at their house; however, the killers did not harm another four-year-old daughter of the deceased woman.

Mustafa, the husband of deceased woman, has been working as a painter and was at work when the incident occurred as he told the police that he had contacted the neighbours when his wife did not attend the calls after which he got to know about the incident.

Gujranwala City Police Officer (CPO) Dr Ghias Gul also reached the spot as further investigation is underway.

In the second incident, a man namely Zahid allegedly clubbed his 44-year-old wife Ulfat to death and also injured his two daughters with attack of clubs at Karachi Biryani street along Sialkot road.

The suspect earlier had an altercation with the wife on selling a piece of land which was in her ownership as she did not agree to sell it.

In another incident along the Gondlanwala road in Garjakh police area, Ghulam Abbas (45) was shot dead by the armed men of his rival group over an old enmity.

The deceased was pursuing the case of his two brothers who were recently released from the jail on bail.
