BAJAUR: Terrorists blew up an abandoned police post in Lowi Mamund tehsil of Bajaur district on Thursday night, police and residents said on Friday.

They said that the incident occurred in the Kamar Sar area after terrorists placed explosive material beside the vacant police post on Thursday night.

The explosives went off, destroying the post that had been vacant since July last year, residents said.

Confirming the explosion, police said terrorists destroyed the empty building in the Kamar Sar area.

The post had been abandoned in July 2025 amid the operation against the terrorists in several areas of Lowi Mamund tehsil, a police official told Dawn.

The official said that cops from the Lowi Mamund police station rushed to the scene to trace the culprits. He said that an investigation had been launched into the incident, adding that an FIR would be lodged against unidentified accused.
