DERA GHAZI KHAN: As the home department has imposed a ban on cultivation of tall crops like sugarcane along the riverine area of Rajanpur district for security reasons, the administration has identified spots and roads.

The Rajanpur district police officer, in coordination with the deputy commissioner, has demarcated specific roads where the cultivation of tall and thick crops, including sugarcane, is now banned within 150 metres on both sides of the roads.

This restriction, issued in response to a communication from the Punjab Home Department and is being implemented for security purposes and in the public interest.

As many as 23 roads have been listed under the ban, covering various police station jurisdictions such as PS Bangla Ichha, Sone Miani, Shahwali, and PS Chakr Bahoot.

The identified routes range from short stretches of 2 km to longer spans of up to eight km, including areas from PS Bangla Ichha to Picket Jumma Wah, Darkhan Mor to picket Siper Wazeer, Machi Mor to picket Nabi Shah, and several other locations.

PSCA: The Safe Cities Authority has introduced a modern Public Safety App, through which citizens can now access multiple services on a single platform.

Through this app, residents can directly report emergency situations via live video calls, establish immediate contact via Chat on 15, seek help from the helpline through audio calls, and connect directly with the Punjab Safe Cities Authority (PSCA).

Regional Police Officer said 171 cameras have been installed at 36 locations. Among these, seven locations cover the entry and exit points of the district and city, while cameras have been installed at 29 locations within the city, helping to improve traffic flow and prevent crime. As a result, crime rate in the covered area has decreased by 60 per cent.

Additionally, facial recognition cameras have been installed at various locations across the city, playing a key role in modern security surveillance. Cameras have also been installed under the e-challan system, which automatically records traffic rule violations.

For the convenience of citizens, free Wi-Fi points have been provided at 30 important locations, while panic buttons have been installed at 15 key locations for immediate assistance during emergencies.
