SWAT: Three people were killed in a firing incident here on Tuesday over an old enmity, the police said.

They said that the victims were critically injured in the attack and were immediately shifted to Saidu Sharif Hospital for medical treatment. However, they succumbed to their injuries shortly after arrival.

Preliminary investigations suggest that the incident occurred over an old enmity between the parties involved.

Following the incident, district police officer Mohammad Umar Khan took immediate notice and directed the police to cordon off the area and launch a search operation to trace those involved in the firing.

Police sources said that cases had previously been registered against both parties at Rahimabad and Saidu police stations. Authorities said that efforts were underway to arrest the suspects.

Further investigation is in progress.
