ISLAMABAD: In an impressive show, Pakistan Customs defeated Punjab-2 team 3-1 in the National U-18 Hockey Championship final here at the Naseer Bunda Hockey Stadium on Sunday.

Customs clinched the title through goal by Aasam, Adeel and Abdullah. Muhammad Zian scored for Punjab-2.

According to PHF, to encourage the young players, prize money of Rs. 3 million was distributed among the winning teams.

Earlier, Army defeated Khyber Pakhtunkhwa to claim the third position.

The match in a 2-2 stalemate in regulation time.

Sharjeel and Aziz scored the goals for KP while Salman and Hanzala contributed one each for Army. In the subsequent exciting shoot-out, again it got to a 3-3 stalemate before Army eventually edged their opponents on a sudden death goal.
