US President Trump has convened a White House Situation Room meeting to discuss the renewed crisis around the Strait of Hormuz and negotiations with Iran, Axios reports citing two US officials.

According to the report, a US official says that Vice President JD Vance, Secretary of State Marco Rubio, War Secretary Pete Hegseth and Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent are among those attending.

“White House Chief of Staff Susie Wiles, White House envoy Steve Witkoff, CIA Director John Ratliffe and Joint Chiefs chairman Dan Caine also attended,” Axios reports, citing the official.

“The White House declined to comment for this story,” the outlet adds.
