BAJAUR: A policeman was injured after unidentified armed men attacked a police post in War Mamund tehsil of Bajaur district late on Friday evening.

Official sources told Dawn that the incident occurred in the Badan area.

They added that the injured cop was identified as Constable Alam Khan of the Elite Force.

Soon after the attack, SP investigations, accompanied by a team, reached the area.

However, when the police party was returning from the area, unidentified armed men also attacked their vehicle, prompting the policemen to retaliate, and forcing the assailants to flee, an official of the War Mamund police station said.

According to officials, the injured policeman was out of danger.
