When asked about whether a potential second round of US-Iran talks would be held in Islamabad, White House Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt has said that the talks will “very likely be in the same place as they were last time”.

“The Pakistanis have been incredible mediators throughout this process and we really appreciate their friendship and their efforts to bring this deal to a close,” she has said, stressing that Islamabad is the only mediator in this negotiation.

She adds, “While there have been many countries around the world who want to offer their help, the president feels it is important to streamline this communication through the Pakistanis and that is what continues to take place.”
