QUETTA: Three armed men launched an attack on a police station in the Pashtoonabad area of Quetta on Monday, authorities said.

According to Senior Superintendent of Police (Operations) Asif Khan, three unidentified assailants rode up to the main gate of the local police station and began shooting before fleeing the scene. Officers stationed at the facility returned fire promptly, forcing the attackers to retreat in haste and abandon their motorcycle nearby.

He said no casualties were reported in the exchange and praised the swift response of police personnel, adding that the assailants appeared unable to sustain the confrontation and escaped through adjacent streets.
