UAE presidential adviser Anwar Gargash has said the Gulf country is willing to join a US-led, international effort to “secure navigation in the Strait of Hormuz”, Al Jazeera reports.

In comments released to the media, Gargash also said Iran’s “strategy” in the region will bolster the influence of both the US and Israel.

“The Iranian strategy will actually concretise the American role … It will not reduce it. We will also see Israeli influence become more prominent in the Gulf, not less,” Gargash was quoted as saying.
