ISLAMABAD, June 26: Chief Justice of Pakistan Justice Iftikhar Mohammad Chaudhry on Monday ordered demolition of the damaged Peshawar High Court circuit bench building in Abbottabad and its early reconstruction. Presiding over a meeting, he stressed that early reconstruction of the building would help in taking up the cases at the circuit bench without any delay.

The building was damaged during the October 8 earthquake. The government has provided funds for its reconstruction on an area of 40,000 square-feet through Erra.

Chief Justice Peshawar High Court Justice Tariq Parvez Khan, Chief Secretary NWFP Ijaz Qureshi and Director General Erra Seerat Asghar also attended the meeting.
