LAWLESSNESS IN MAKRAN: The alarming rise in lawlessness and kidnappings in the Makran region has created widespread fear and uncertainty. Growing public anger recently led to a complete shutdown across several Makran cities, including Gwadar, Turbat and Panjgur. All business activities, markets and banking operations remained suspended as people took to the streets to express their concern over rising insecurity. The immediate trigger for the strike was the kidnapping of a prominent businessman. The protesters demanded swift and decisive action to ensure the safe recovery of the kidnapped businessman and to make those responsible face justice.

PILOT SCHOOL DADU: The Model Higher Secondary School Dadu, also called the Government Pilot School, has produced many talented individuals in various fields. Currently, about 1,800 students are enrolled there. The school is progressing academically, but the building is hardly capable of facilitating the increasing number of students. The school needs more classrooms and facilities. Besides, it faces several issues, like the absence of clean drinking water, washrooms, modern scientific tools for labo-ratories and digital classrooms, to meet the emerging challenges. The Sindh government must resolve these issues.

STRANDED YOUTH: A reasonable chunk of our young population has given up on Pakistani universities and the job market. They prefer to move out early to acquire higher education and explore job opportunities. Those having no means to take this route find themselves stuck. The country, instead of offering new jobs, is cutting down on the existing ones. There are not many options available for upward social mobility. Quality education remains a forlorn hope for the non-elitist segments of society. Coupled with factors, like the burden of expectations and societal pressure, Pakistan’s young community has a lot of crippling challenges to face.
