MIRPURKHAS, June 25: The All Parties Action Committee of Mirpurkhas took out a procession on Sunday from the Chandni Chowk to protest against what it said violation of the rule of merit in recruiting people for the Board of Intermediate and Secondary Education (BISE) Mirpurkhas.

Workers of the Muttahida Qaumi Movement had been recruited against some posts in the board illegally, alleged protesters led by action committee convener Asghar Narejo.

Carrying banners and placards, they marched through main roads raising slogans: “Adha Tumhara Adha Hamara Na Manzoor” and “Chairman BISE Na Manzoor”.

They staged a sit-in at the Market Chowk where speaking to protesters, Asghar Narejo condemned what he termed illegal recruitments in the board of Mirpurkhas and violation of merit.

He deplored that 90 per cent jobs in the board had been given to the Muttahida that had recruited its workers and supporters, depriving Sindhi speaking people of their rights to jobs.

The leader said the Sindhi speaking people who had handed over the BISE Mirpurkhas to the MQM should resign forthwith.

He appealed to people to wear black armbands and hoist black flags on rooftops of their houses to record their protest during visits of the Sindh governor to the city.

He announced that a campaign would begin on July 3 when they would hold a long march from the Mirpurkhas Press Club to the Sindh Assembly, Karachi, to submit their complaints.

District party president (women wing) Shamim Jhandeer alleged that the Sindh government was hatching a conspiracy against the Sindhi people by keeping them away from education and handing over institutions to others.
