Social media platform X (formerly Twitter) was back up after facing a brief international outage on Thursday afternoon, according to internet monitors.

Shortly after 12pm, NetBlocks reported that X was “experiencing international outages”, adding that the incident was “not related to country-level internet disruptions or filtering”.

Downdetector, which monitors internet outages in real time, showed a sharp spike in problems reported by Pakistani users soon after 12pm.

Half of those issues pertained to the X timeline, with most of the rest complaining about the app.

By around 12:45pm, the user reports had declined significantly for Pakistan to two from a peak of 189.

Similarly, for the United States, complaints had fallen to below 200 compared to nearly 31,700 received a short while earlier.

The Elon-Musk owned platform also faced a brief outage for thousands of global users on March 18.

One similar incident occurred in February, while January witnessed two X outages within a week.
