KARACHI, June 23: Promising Nameer Shamsi and Mustafa Zaidi met with double success to advance into next round of boys U-13 and U-15 singles in the 16th Talent Hunt Sindh ranking tennis tournament which got underway at the CDGK Sports Complex on Friday.

After winning his first round boys U-13 singles match against Ammar Millwala 6-1, 6-1 with ease, second seed Nameer was stretched to limits by Ahad Hassan Khan on his way to register 2-6, 6-2, 6-4 win in two hour battle.

On the other hand, Mustafa faced no resistance in overcoming Shamran and Kumail with identical score line of 6-1, 6-0.

The men’s singles first round matches were in progress at the time of filing this report.

Boys U-13 singles (first round): Mustafa Zaidi bt Shamran 6-1, 6-0; Ramiz Farishta bt Mohammad Sarib 6-0, 6-2; Arif Khan bt Omer Osman 4-6, 6-2, 6-3; Azher Qureshi bt Shehryar Ahmed 6-4 3-0 (retd); Abdul Rehman bt Tahir Ali Khan 6-1, 6-2; Nameer Shamsi bt Ammar Millwala 6-1, 6-1.

Boys U-15 (first round): Hasham Khan bt Taha Sereng 6-0, 6-0; Sarmad Munir bt Ramiz Farishta 6-0, 6-2; Hassan Azad bt Doraiz Wazir 7-6 (retd); Nameer Shamsi bt Ahad Hassan Khan 2-6, 6-2, 6-4; Abu Bakar bt Salman Kamani 6-2, 6-2; Ahsen Bajwa bt Ali Zubair 6-1, 6-0; Mustafa Zaidi bt Kumail Ally 6-1, 6-0.

Juniors U-17 singles (first round): Hasham bt S. M. Naeem 6-0, 6-2; Mustafa Jamali bt Abdul Rehman 6-7, 6-2, 6-1.
