LAHORE, June 22: A man was killed and 11 others injured in two incidents of roof collapse in the city on Thursday. Police said Shoaib, 30, of the Defence Housing Society was getting his factory building constructed at Krol Ghati in Gujjarpura when one of its under-construction strucrure collapsed. Shoaib together with eight workers got trapped in the rubble.

Rescue-1122 personnel besides the police and the civil defence rushed to the scene and recovered the injured men from the debris.

They were taken to a nearby hospital where the factory owner died. The condition of three of the injured was stated to be critical.

Three more people were injured when another under-construction building caved in on Peco Road in Kot Lakhpat.

ACCIDENT: Two people, including a woman, were killed in road accidents here on Thursday.

Surraya Bibi, 35, of Gujranwala, was hit by a bus at Bhati Chowk. She was taken to hospital where she died.

A truck lost its control and hit the gate of a factory in Hanjarwal. A security guard, Wali Khan, 60, sustained injuries and died while being taken to hospital.
