HAMELIN, June 21: France defender Mikael Silvestre said on Wednesday he would play in his team's final World Cup Group G match against Togo on Friday in Cologne.

“Yes, I will play,” Silvestre, who stayed on the bench for France's first two games in the tournament, told reporters.

“The coach told us in training what the starting lineup would be,” the 28-year-old added without elaborating.—Reuters
