ISLAMABAD, June 19: A regular bus service between Rawalakot in Azad Kashmir and Poonch on the other side of the line of control begins on Tuesday. After completion of formalities and security clearance, the service will be inaugurated by AJK Prime Minister Sardar Sikandar Hayat on behalf of the government of Pakistan and by Sonia Gandhi on the Indian side of Kashmir.

After exchange of documents between the two countries, at least 57 passengers are set to leave for occupied Kashmir from Rawalakot, and 46 would arrive in the AJK from Poonch.

Administrations on both sides had taken special measures to ensure security of the bus service and additional security personnel have been deployed on the route.—Online
