SUKKUR, Feb 8: Several organizations, including JSQM, MQM, PML (F) and Samaji Sangat, started their hunger strike on Thursday against the recruitment of non-locals by the Mari Gas Company.

The protestors said that the company was earning tens of millions of rupees from its 62 wells, but it was giving jobs to people coming from other provinces.

ROBBED: Some armed men looted 12 passengers of a wagon at gunpoint near Garhi Yasin.

In another incident, some unidentified armed men tried to loot vehicles near Sultankot on Thursday, but they were intercepted by the area police.

The police arrested one of the robbers while his two accomplices fled.
