West Zone Blues triumph

LAHORE, June 19: Fine bowling by Azhar, Mustafa Iqbal and Saad Nasim enabled West Zone Blues beat North Zone Whites by 41 runs in the PCB Inter-district under-19 Lahore region cricket championship at Mughalpura Institute Ground on Monday.

Azhar (4-55), Mustafa (3-51) and Saad (3-55) shared the wickets as North Zone Whites were all out for 229 while chasing a winning target of 271.

A fine century by Raheel Butt guided North Zone Blues to a six-wicket win against East Zone Blues at Cricket Centre ground.

Raheel struck 116 with 11 four.

An unbeaten 64 by Mohammad Shafiq propelled East Zone Whites to a six-wicket win over West Zone Whites at the LCCA Ground.

APP adds from Karachi: Zone-II completed a resounding eight-wicket victory over Zone-III on the opening day of the Karachi region match at the KCCA Stadium.

Off-spinner Tajuddin took four for 24, pacemen Fareed Khan three for 22 and Sami Arshad two for 21 as Zone-III crashed to 91 all out in 37.1 overs. Zone-II, in response, reached the target for the loss of only two wickets in 20.4 overs.
