Clearance of imports

ISLAMABAD, June 19: The government has allowed clearance of used parts and commercial imports after paying a fine of 30pc of the value besides other duties and taxes.

The decision was notified through customs notification issued here on Monday by amending the notification SRO574 of 2005. Earlier, imports of auto parts were confiscated outright.

According to the notification, the government allowed clearance of auto parts imported in used or second-hand condition and baggage imported in commercial quantities by incoming passengers at a redemption fine of 30pc besides other duty and taxes.
