Ahmed spins Zone-II to victory

KARACHI, June 18: Slow left-armer Ahmed Iqbal Khan returned a five-wicket haul to help Zone-II to a 75-run victory over Zone-III in the PCB Inter-district Under-19 Karachi region cricket championship on Sunday.

Ahmed bagged five for 46 in 18 overs as Zone-III were dismissed for 202 in 78.5 overs. Bilal Mohiuddin hit a defiant 58 with five fours and Osama Shah made 49 with four hits to the boundary.

In another match at Pak Star Ground, Zone-IV defeated Zone-I by four wickets thanks to a fine 71 by Hamza-ul-Hasan that included six 4s and a six.

Leg-spinner Shahzaib Ahmed Khan captured seven for 59 on Saturday as Zone-I were dismissed for 206.

The matches are restricted to one innings of 70 overs each.
