MUZAFFARABAD: A teenage boy allegedly shot himself dead in Neelum Valley on Friday, reportedly out of frustration a day after the result of the first-year intermediate examinations showed that he had failed in one subject, local residents said.

The deceased was identified as Mazhar Shaikh, son of Tameezuddin Shaikh, a resident of Nagdar village in the upper belt of Neelum Valley.

According to residents, the youth used a 12-bore gun to end his life. Further investigation was under way.
