LAHORE: The City Traffic Police Lahore’s AI-powered enforcement system has recorded 26m motorcycle movements during the last 15 days across the city, revealing an impressive 98.68pc helmet compliance rate.

This reflects strong civic responsibility and increasing road safety awareness among the citizens. Additionally, AI analysis of 6.2m motorcycle movements shows only 1,466 one-way violations (0.023%), indicating improved traffic discipline citywide.

According to a spokesperson for the CTP, despite the minimal ratio, strict action is being taken against violators. Vehicles involved in one-way violations are being impounded as such violations pose serious risks to public safety. The citizens have been urged to avoid one-way violations and rash driving to prevent inconvenience.

APP ADDS: On the other hand, City Traffic Police on Friday impounded 363 vehicles during a 12-hour crackdown against one-way violations, helmetless riding, lane discipline breaches and vehicles without number plates.

According to the traffic police spokesperson, strict enforcement against traffic rules violators was continuing in full swing across the city under the special campaign. During the last 12 hours, tickets were issued to 1,946 motorcyclists for riding without helmets.

Similarly, legal action was taken against 665 drivers for one-way violations while 299 vehicles were stopped and fined for breaching lane line discipline. The traffic police also issued tickets to 298 vehicles over non-standard, tampered or missing number plates.
