SWABI: Two brothers were shot dead over a dispute relating to the boundary wall of their house in Gohati village of Maneri Bala area in Swabi tehsil on Sunday, the police and rescue officials said.

A Rescue 1122 official identified the deceased as Aziz-ur-Rehman, 40, and Atta-ur-Rehman, 30.

SHO city police station Ajab Durrani said that one of the brothers died on the spot, while the other succumbed to his injuries in the District Headquarters Hospital, Swabi.

Zain Rehman, another brother of the deceased, got registered an FIR against two brothers – Asad Khan and Shakeel Khan – for the double murder.

Meanwhile, a resident, identified as Hassan Jan, was shot dead allegedly by his friends over some petty dispute, the police said

SHO Zaida police station Altaf Khan said that the evidence they collected from the crime scene indicated that Hassan Jan was shot dead by Shehryar, a resident of Thandkoi village, and Azmat Khan, a resident of Marghuz village. He said that Hassan Jan was not willing to befriend the suspected killers, that’s why he was shot dead.

Local human rights activists blasted the brutal murder, saying that his death was caused by corrupt social and administrative system, easy access to weapons and poor implementation of law.

Parents of the deceased demanded that international and national human rights organisations, especially Human Rights Watch, conduct an independent investigation of the incident.
