20 injured in Swat Motorway tunnel accident

MALAKAND: At least 20 passengers, including women and children, were injured when a passenger coach travelling from Swat to Peshawar met with an accident in Tunnel No. 3 of Swat Motorway on Wednesday.

According to Rescue 1122 Malakand, soon after receiving information about the accident, medical teams and ambulances were dispatched to the site. Rescue personnel carried out emergency operations, provided first aid to the injured and shifted them to Palai Hospital. Later, on the advice of doctors, the injured were referred to District Headquarters (DHQ) Hospital Batkhela for further treatment.Rescue 1122 officials said that the injured were being provided medical facilities at the DHQ Hospital Batkhela. Teams of Alkhidmat Foundation and Nizamuddin Team also participated in relief activities.
